Hodgepodge: a mixture.
Heaven: the place where God resides; something that is very good or pleasant.
My life, like most of yours, is a mixture of many things: good, bad and ugly! I will say God has been very good to me and I thank him every day for the many blessings in my life. Our life here at the Winkles Residence (yes, that is really our last name 🙂 is definitely a hodgepodge of different things. My husband is an elevator fixing, woodworking, handyman who I have adored since high school. My daughter and son are both gymnasts who hope to make it to the Olympics one day as well as fight fires and become the scientist that develops the cure for cancer (dream big kiddos!!!). And me? What do I do? Well, it might be easier to start off with what I am NOT, and what I DON’T do! I DON’T have a normal 9-5. Six years ago I quit teaching for the public schools and started my own business where I teach kids basketball skills (SO.MUCH.FUN.!!!). I am NOT a chef but I can make a mean grilled cheese sandwich and have become a master of the crock pot. I am NOT a writer nor do I have any formal writing training, unless that 8th grade creative writing class counts. I just like to write. I DO have a degree in kinesiology so if you need to shed a few pounds, I can probably help with that. I am NOT an artist or interior designer but I LOVE to paint, create, and remodel anything I can get my hands on. Most days my husband comes home to find something else painted, rearranged or hanging on the walls.
So, if you are like me, which I’m sure we have something in common, I hope you will join me on this crazy, often hectic but awesome, journey we call life.
